About the Retreat
A Space to Begin Writing from Real Life Again
Many people carry stories inside them for years — a childhood they've never fully described, a relationship that changed everything, a question they've been circling for decades. In daily life, these inner materials stay buried under schedules, noise, and the constant pressure to produce something useful.
This retreat is held at Baan Gita, a beautiful home in Chiang Rai — surrounded by gardens, birdsong, and the kind of stillness. Over three days, a small group of 4–8 people gather to slow down, listen inwardly, and begin writing from real experience again. There are no word counts, no performance expectations, and no publishing pressure.
Each day follows a gentle rhythm: morning practice (laughter meditation, breathing, silence), guided reflective writing sessions, reading from inspired texts, small-group reflection circles, and long stretches of unstructured quiet. The writing that emerges here tends to be honest, personal, and alive.

At Baan Gita, writing is not treated as performance. Writing is treated as listening.
What's Included
A Gentle Rhythm, Carefully Held
The retreat price includes everything you need to be fully present — accommodation, all sessions, morning practice, and the quiet space between. Below is what each day holds.
Morning Practice
Each morning begins with laughter meditation — a practice that releases tension from the body before the mind is asked to write. This is followed by breathing exercises, a period of silence, and a short reflective reading. By the time you sit down to write, something has already loosened.
Reflective Writing Sessions
The heart of the retreat. Guided prompts invite you to write from real memory, real feeling, and real experience — not from what you think you should say. Sessions last 60–90 minutes and are held in comfortable silence. No one reads over your shoulder. Nothing is graded.
Reading & Contemplation
Selected passages from Letters from Maitreya and other reflective texts are offered as quiet mirrors — not as doctrine or instruction, but as invitations to look inward. These readings often unlock something that prompts alone cannot reach.
Reflection Circles
Once or twice each day, the group gathers in a small circle to share observations, insights, or — if they choose — a sentence or two from their writing. Sharing is always optional. The circle is a space of witnessing, not critique. What is said here stays here.
Quiet Creative Time
Protected time each afternoon with no agenda. Write more, rest, walk, sit with your tea, or simply do nothing. This unstructured space is not filler — it is where much of the real writing happens, quietly, on your own terms.
Who This Retreat Is For
You Don't Need to Be a Professional Writer
This retreat is for anyone who feels that something inside them is waiting to be heard — whether you have written for decades or have never found the right moment to begin.
The Blocked Writer
You used to write and somehow stopped. The words feel far away, or the blank page feels more like pressure than possibility. You're ready to return — gently.
The Reflective Seeker
You don't identify as a "writer" but feel that something inside you wants to be expressed. A life story, a letter, a question — something real is asking to be heard.
The Memoirist or Storyteller
You are carrying memories, experiences, or chapters of life that feel important enough to write down — a memoir, personal essay, healing letter, or life story.
The Creatively Exhausted
You feel drained by constant productivity and performance. You want to rediscover writing as a way of listening to life — not another task to complete.
You only need the willingness to slow down, listen honestly, and meet your own words again. No publications required. No finished idea needed. No experience necessary.
Retreat Schedule
Three Days of Gentle Unfolding
The retreat follows a slow, human rhythm — structured enough to feel held, spacious enough for real discovery to happen. Each day has a different quality and intention. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. The schedule below is a guide, not a contract.
1
Day 1 — Arrival & Settling
Arrive at Baan Gita from 2:00pm onwards. Settle into your room and let the journey fall away. At 3:00pm, the group gathers for a gentle opening circle — introductions, intentions, and a first quiet writing exercise designed to ease any pressure around the blank page. The evening closes with a simple shared meal and early rest. No performance required on Day 1. You are simply invited to arrive.
2
Day 2 — The Writing Day
7:30am: Morning practice — laughter meditation, breathing, and silence.
9:30am: First reflective writing session with guided prompts.
11:00am: Reading & contemplation from Letters from Maitreya.
12:30pm: Lunch and quiet rest.
2:30pm: Second writing session — deeper, more personal prompts.
4:30pm: Quiet creative time — write, rest, walk, or sit.
6:30pm: Evening reflection circle. Sharing is always optional.
This is the fullest day — and also the most spacious. The aim is never to produce more, but to listen more deeply.
3
Day 3 — Integration & Closing
7:30am: Final morning practice and a short reflective writing exercise.
9:30am: Integration session — participants review what has emerged and sketch a simple personal writing plan to carry home.
11:00am: Closing circle — a quiet moment of witnessing, gratitude, and celebration of what was written and what was heard.
12:30pm: Shared farewell lunch.
2:00pm: Check-out.
You leave not with a finished manuscript, but with something more valuable: a clearer sense of what you want to say, and the quiet confidence that you can say it.
What You May Leave With
The outcome of this retreat is not measured in pages written or word counts reached. Most participants leave with something quieter and more lasting — a renewed sense of what they actually want to say, and the feeling that they are allowed to say it.
  • A first piece of genuine reflective writing — something honest, something yours
  • A clearer sense of the story, memoir, or project you want to pursue
  • A personal writing intention and a simple plan for continuing at home
  • A structural outline for a book, essay, memoir, or personal project — if that emerged
  • A renewed relationship with your own creative voice — less performance, more truth
  • The experience of writing in a group without judgment or comparison
You may leave with one honest page. That page may open the door to years of writing.

The Heart of This Retreat
This retreat is not about forcing words to come. It is about creating enough silence for the real voice to return.
We believe writing does not always begin with discipline. Sometimes it begins with rest. Sometimes it begins with one quiet morning. Sometimes it begins when the body finally feels safe enough to tell the truth.

Meals beyond breakfast may be arranged separately or enjoyed as shared local meals depending on the retreat format. Details will be shared upon booking.
Deepen Your Journey
The SkyView Reflection: Your Inner Compass
Alongside your writing, each participant receives a gentle personal reflection through Kay’s unique SkyView approach. This isn't fortune-telling; it's a powerful tool to understand your natural rhythms, emotional patterns, and the deeper life themes unfolding right now.
Creative blocks are rarely just about words. SkyView helps you observe how exhaustion, life transitions, or nervous system states impact your flow. It fosters self-understanding, allowing you to write from a more honest and aligned place, re-connecting you with both your story and your present moment.

The purpose is to create reflection and timing awareness, fostering a calmer understanding of yourself during the writing journey.
